My Vote Counts Right????

As we all know we are currently in the process of electing a new president. I'm not going to go into why the electoral collage is good or bad. What I would like to address is the Democratic party. Here's the issue. During the primaries each state has delegates that are given to the candidates based on the number of votes they got (not always true, but that's what we're gonna run with for now). The states of Florida and Michigan decided to have their primaries early. As punishment, the Democratic party took the delegates away from those states, effectively not counting the votes of the two states.

Here's the underlying issue. The primary system is a bad system, and it's especially bad on the Democratic side. The Democrats are going to go to convention and have SUPER DELEGATES decided who runs for president, and not the people of America. Compounding the problem is the fact that Democrats award delegates in the primaries, not in a winner take all fashion, but in a, one for you two for me fashion.

Overall the Democratic party, the party of the people, isn't listening to the people. Voters should be able to chose who is running. Keep in mind that Republicans aren't much better. The system, on both sides (which isn't even the same for both sides) is a horrible system that needs to be fixed.

Stay tuned...Next time I'll tackle Caucuses and why they are even worse than Primaries, Democrats, and Republicans combined!!!!
