Hyatt's right to hire or fire who they want....
The Hyatt in Boston fired some 500 works. They fired them because the Hyatt was able to outsource the jobs to a company who would do the work for less money than Hyatt was currently paying it employees. The problems start because Gov. Patrick, Rep. Capuano, and May Menino have decided that the Hyatt can't just fire people.
I'm not big on companies just firing people, but the fact of the matter is that they Hyatt is allowed to do just that. It sucks. Yup it sucks real bad. But it's their decision to make. Whether I agree with it or not it's their decision. I'm going out on a limb and going to say that the Hyatt fired all those people in a cost cutting effort. Everyone seems to forget that they Hyatt's number one goal is to make money. So if that means they have to fire some people to do it, they more power to them.
Now I don't want to sound cold hearted. I feel for the people who lost their jobs. Like I said earlier, it sucks. But Hyatt made a desicion (one that sucks) and the people effected are going to have to move on. It's tough. No one wants to be fired, but you just got to role with it. The people who got let go have every right to protest, complain and what ever else they want to do. If I were them I would probaly stop complaining and protesting, which is really not doing much but waisting time, and try and find a job.
